Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!
This year we opted for a nice & low-key barbeque at home rather than fighting the crowds in Boston...and considering it was just going to be the three of us & we weren't going to stay for fireworks (Alexander's patience wouldn't have lasted that long), we figured we'd be able to enjoy ourselves more with Matt, Laura & Michael over to celebrate!

We had traditional hamburgers, hot dogs & corn on the cob while the boys played baseball, trains, and just ran around! And despite a few "I'm-3-and-I'm-tired" meltdowns, they boys had a great day playing!

Happy 4th of July from Alexander & cousin Michael!

4th of July...

Happy 4th of July!

Per our annual tradition of celebrating the 4th of July in Boston, we packed up & headed in. And maybe next year, we'll even stay for fireworks!

This year, we kept it lowkey yet fun. We went to Vinny Ts for a late lunch and met up with uncle Matt, Laura & cousin Michael and Mommy's friend Stacey. The boys were well behaved and Alexander screeched with joy everytime a bus drove by. Imagine, if you will that there are a lot of buses driving by and how often Alexander screeched... the boys also had meatballs for lunch/dinner.
After Vinny Ts, we walked down to the Boston Common where the boys could run around & play ball. Michael was starting to get very tired so before it got too late, they headed home. We found a spot on the grass and relaxed. Daddy & Alexander kicked the ball around, Alexander LOVED running after the ball as well as when Daddy would kick it up high.
Then we took a break for a snack and Alexander devoured his blueberries! He was even nice and shared with Stacey & Daddy. After snacktime, Alexander had warmed up enough to Stacey and kept showing her the planes and helicopters overhead. He even felt comfortable enough to dive/climb on her.
Then it was time to head home - Alexander was awake the entire ride home but did manage to go to bed pretty reasonably once home. Mommy & Daddy stayed up for the fireworks but I will say, they weren't that impressive & I fell asleep.
One more thing - Alexander is definitely afraid of dogs. There was a big dog that wasn't necessarily near him but was coming closer and he panicked! He couldn't get picked up fast enough!

Happy 4th of July...

We wish everyone a happy & safe 4th of July!
Thank you to all of the troops who serve our country!

4th of July Fun...

We (Mommy, Daddy, Alexander & Alyson) went into Boston for our annual 4th of July celebration: lunch @ Vinny Ts and then walked around Back Bay and ended up at the Frog Pond. Alexander loved being in the water at the Frog Pond. Next year, we're thinking we may try to stay for the fireworks to see how Alexander does.

Alyson found a lost little boy at the Frog Pond. That was quite scary but thankfully we were able to find his parents. I did ask the little boy what his Mommy's name was and his answer was "Mommy". Obviously!
Dan was quite angry at the parents for losing their child and we were a bit surprised that they weren't appreciative. I even questioned the parents and asked if they were the kid's parents because he didn't run to them but he did say they were his parents. It was so scary at first thinking that we wouldn't find them and I couldn't imagine just dropping this kid off at a security guard. I was certainly planning on waiting until we found his mother. Thankfully it all worked out.

Besides the little lost boy moment, we had a great day. The weather cooperated, lunch was good, we all had fun.
