Ready, Set, Go...
My little bike rider gearing up for his last lap...
This afternoon Alexander & Daddy went for a little bike ride over at the high school! It's amazing that in January, we're still able to go outside even for a bit without freezing temperatures! I'll take it!
Alexander did a great job riding and was showing how fast he can go! I imagine that by spring those training wheels might be off!
Take a peak at the Speed Racer! This is the same kid who at the beginning of the summer who refused/was afraid to pedal a bike. Not anymore!
This year, Alexander's school was holding a trike-a-thon for St. Jude's Research. We asked Alexander if he wanted to participate and he said he only felt like walking. We asked if he wanted to bring his bike, scooter, helmet or any combination of them and he wasn't really into it.
He said he would much rather walk because he could be much faster than his friends. I wonder if it's because he's not that comfortable peddling....looks like we might want to try the bike riding again
He's still pretty young for a big boy bike but nonetheless the bike fairy arrived! The timing is very comical because Mommy, Alexander, Mimi & Papi went out to the store and to help keep Alexander occupied Mommy & Mimi put him on a few bikes and rode him around. He loved it!
After the store, we came home and played outside with Carly & Matty (his next door neighbor friends). We were all playing with toys, trucks, etc. Then we started having races with Alexander's little kid bike and his Tonka trunk so Carly & Matty went to grab their bikes for a proper race.
After the races, Matty came over to Alexander and gave him his bike. Matty got a new big boy bike and had outgrown his bike. Matty even gave him his helmut. Alexander was very excited but of course when I ran inside to get my camera he wanted no part of anything. (poor kid didn't sleep today)
