Turns 6...

Six. Alexander turns 6 today. It's amazing how quickly time flies - I remember when he was just 6 months old lying on a blanket with his cute cheeks and chubby baby thighs.

Now he's 6 and growing up, fast. He is in kindergarten. He has two wiggly teeth which are due to come out any day. He has a girl, Annabelle, who loves him. And before I know it he'll be 12 and I'll be wondering where his elementary years went.

But for now I'm going to enjoy these precious days and memories because every day is fun and a blessing!

And I'm beyond lucky to be his mom and watch him grow into a fantastic, special, funny, and handsome little guy!

Birthday Overload...

One can never have enough Birthday celebrations...tonight, Alexander asked to go out to dinner for his birthday! Mommy, Daddy & Alexander headed to Fridays for a birthday treat.

After eating dinner, the waitstaff asked if they could sing to him as they brought him over his chocolate dessert. He was very cute, being shy as they sang. (he kept moving around which is why the pictures are blurry)

Birthday Activities...

To celebrate Alexander's 5th Birthday, Mommy went into class this morning to read a couple books during circle time as well as bring cupcakes for snack time.

His class loved the books he picked out as we read one of his favorites (Just Going To The Dentist) and they loved the frog's side story.

During snack time, his class sang Happy Birthday and then got to eat cup cakes.

Birthday Celebration...

Today, Alexander and Mommy went out to celebrate Mommy's Birthday. We went out to dinner, got some fun chocolately goodness and had ourselves a lot of fun!

And then later Alexander gave me my birthday card that he made for me! I was touched and how special it is.

Birthday Celebrations...

On Sunday, we celebrated Mommy's birthday with Mimi & Papi. We went into Boston to check out the Aquarium, then we headed over to Quincy Market for lunch and got some of the yummiest chocolate chip cookies. Once at home, we continued to celebrate with ice cream cake!

 And I really wish I could remember what funny one-liner he said here but obviously it was funny:

Birthday Fun...

Today is Papi's birthday and to celebrate (and because it's Columbus Day), Alexander is going to spend the afternoon with Mimi & Papi.

Celebrating Bennett...

 Today was Bennett's First Birthday Party!

His birthday is September 22nd (Alexander's half birthday) so Chris & Chris had his first birthday party today.  Chris did an amazing job on the party.  The theme was Dr. Suess and Bennett was dressed in Dr. Suess down to his diapers!  She had Dr. Suess books around the house, pictures of his first year, and all the food & drinks were based on different Dr. Suess books.

The cake was a book of Green Eggs & Ham complete with a green eggs, ham & a fork!  Bennett himself then got his very own 'Horton Hears a Who' smash cake which is thoroughly enjoyed eating!  It was a great party for a very lucky, adorable little boy!

Birthday Celebrations...

Tonight, Alexander & I went out to dinner with Mimi & Papi to have a birthday celebration for Mimi. Alexander kept asking if there would be fireworks as last year at Mimi's birthday (at their house), a neighbor set off some fireworks. He now equates Mimi's birthday to fireworks.
We got to watch the Sox game, give Mimi her presents and it was a nice night.

Celebrations...

We did some more celebrating for Daddy's 40th Birthday. We went out to a nice dinner with family & good friends.Alexander had fun as he got to see everyone and hang out with the boys. I brought a bag full of goodies to keep him entertained. Thankfully, Auntie brought her ipad which really kept him entertained as the night went on.Overall it was a great night! Family, friends, good food & Alexander loved helping Daddy blow out the candles.

Daddy's Birthday...

Today we celebrated Daddy's 40th Birthday by having a very low-key day at home.

We let Daddy sleep in, and the plan was to go out to lunch and enjoy the day! However, some had a bit of a temper tantrum so lunch was put on hold.Daddy opened up some presents and then Daddy & Alexander played with their cool racetrack which really kept Alexander fully entertained & giggly. We had a nice dinner and Alexander fell asleep rather quickly!

Happy Birthday...

Alexander had a great birthday! We started the day with birthday wishes, followed by a bowl of cereal at the kitchen table. He must be getting older as he actually had breakfast at the table!

He was so excited to bring cupcakes into class for his friends to celebrate!
After dinner, we had special pizza dinner before cake & presents!We sang Happy Birthday and he was excited to have yet another cake - he was excited to have ice cream cake but only wanted the chocolate part & a chocolate cupcake.He opened his presents and got some games, puzzles & storybooks on CDs from Mommy & Daddy. But we also got him a globe which he was very excited about - he wanted to know where everyone was from and where it was!

The Cake...

For Alexander's birthday this year, I wanted to go a little different with the cake. I wanted to be a bit more different, funky rather than a typical sheet cake. And since we were having a Superhero themed party, I thought it would be cool to have a cake to depict three superheros.

It was a search to find someone who understood what I was thinking in my mind but also not charge an obscene amount. Plus, how cool would it be to have a superman cape on the cake!? After some searching and coordinating, I was able to find a woman thru my friend Kelley. And as it turns out, this woman makes amazing cakes!The cake was perfect and exactly what I had pictured in my mind...everyone kept commenting on how cool the cake was! And it looked so cool as the centerpiece to the superhero candy bar!The cake was great - it represented Superman, Batman & Spiderman so well! And from what everyone said, the cake was really good & yummy!

Mommy's Birthday - Part Two...

To celebrate Mommy's birthday, we went out for some lunch, shopping & indoor mini-golf.
We went to the mall where we walked around, Alexander checked out the fountain, did some shopping & returned a few items. Then we decided we should grab some lunch, however so did everyone else. The restaurant was pretty busy with people waiting as well...Alexander got a bit antsy but overall hung in there.

In true Alexander-fashion he was so excited about lunch & eating but when his pizza arrived, he barely ate.

After lunch, we knew Alexander still had some energy to burn so Dan suggested glow in the dark indoor mini-golf. Alexander loved it! Some holes he did great, others he just wanted to hit the ball as many times as possible! We had to end the round a bit early due to a bathroom break, but all in all it was a good day.

Birthday Celebrations...

Today we celebrated Mommy's birthday by having a small dinner, cake & presents. Mimi, Papi & Auntie came over to help celebrate!Alexander did a great job of getting the cake ready!He also helped blow out the candles!He also helped opened up presents!

Today we went to a birthday party for Marina! Alexander was so excited to go see her!
What made it cuter was that once Marina realized Alexander was at her house, she was just as excited wanting to play with him!

They really are two peas in a pod! She loves him and he's so good with her!
