Edaville Railroad...

This holiday season was all about family & traditions. New Years weekend was no exception. We ended our weekend with our annual trip to Edaville Railroad to see the lights & ride the train! We were lucky in the sense that it was not freezing cold nor was it snowing...however it was wet & incredibly foggy! There were times you couldn't even make out the lights in the distance. Despite the rain, we still had fun. Alexander rode some rides & we enjoyed the train ride.
Alexander asked if we were riding the Polar Bear Express and if he was going to hear Josh (Groban)'s song. I've trained him well!

Day out with Thomas...

Today we went to Edaville Railroad for our Day out with Thomas adventure...Mimi, Papi & Auntie Alyson joined us. It was a gorgeous day as evident by so many people enjoying the day as well! When we first got there, we ran into Aidan & his Daddy. They were just leaving but Aidan & Alexander did get to run around with each other for a bit & also watch Thomas as he drove by!Then it was our turn for our train ride with Thomas!Alexander even got his ticket punched again. After the ride, he was able to get his picture taken with Thomas...and he was probably the most well-behaved child in the entire line! And it pays that he knows how to pose for the camera!
He rode a few rides - Merry-go-round, the flying elephants & the Merry-go-round again:followed by a quick visit with Sir Topham Hatt. He still didn't want to stand next to him by himself, but at least he wasn't as freaked out as last year.

Edaville Railroad...

After Spaulding Family Christmas, we went over Mimi & Papi's for a sleep-over. We were going to Edaville Railroad on Sunday to see the Christmas lights as we ride the train. We headed to Edaville Railroad after naptime and thankfully the weather cooperated because it wasn't freezing or snowing.
We got there at a perfect time. There wasn't a lot of people so it made it easy to get on the ride (Merry Go Round specifically) without lines or waiting. After a few rides, we got in line to go on the Edaville Train to see the lights. We called this the Christmas Train because Alexander kept saying he wanted to see Thomas & Sir Topham Hatt again. We got our seats on the train and had plenty of room to ourselves. Alexander must have said "All Aboard" about 100 times, easily. The conductor came around and punched our tickets which I think Alexander thought was the best part of the whole train. He even showed the conductor how he says "All Aboard". The lights didn't seem to hold his interest this year, I think he was more excited he was riding on a train.
After the train ride, we decided to go out to dinner. Alexander (even though getting close to bedtime) was extremely well-behaved. He ate spaghetti, meatballs & french fries...but had more fun slurping up the spaghetti!Another fun year at Edaville!

Day Out With Thomas...

Today, we took Alexander to Edaville Railroad for a "Day Out With Thomas". He got to go on a trainride with Thomas, get his picture taken with Thomas & see Sir Topham Hat.

He loved the train ride - he was able to see Thomas in the front. Everytime Thomas has steam coming from the top, Alexander made sure to tell everyone. The train took us around the property and we got to see bogs, tractors, birds & fishies in the pond. Alexander got a certificate for being a Junior Engineer and then the engineer came around to punch tickets. Alexander was very excited to be riding on the train.

Besides the ride on Thomas, the Train he went on a few rides. He loved the Merry Go-Round (he went on three times!), and then he rode a bunch of different rides: elephant ride, a turtle ride, a catepillar, and a mini train. Alexander got a little Thomas train & his very own conductor hat - he'll be the perfect engineer next year!

After a little lunch, we went in line to go see Sir Topham Hat and get our picture taken with him. Mind you, Alexander loves Sir Topham Hat in the books & on the movie but something about seeing the character in person - Alexander was not a fan! It didn't help that Sir Topham Hat also looked like the 'Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man' in person.

We were first in line to get our picture taken and he was fine until it was time to stand up next to him. Then he wanted no part of it. We got what we could and then left so we didn't torture the poor kid.

We went inside to check out all of the cool trainsets and then after running around a bit - it was time to go home. Overall, a very fun & successful trip!

(Pictures coming soon)
