Fenway Park Tour...

This morning, Alexander & Mommy went on a tour of Fenway Park.  It was beautiful weather and we had a great morning.  We got there in the morning and enjoyed the gorgeous weather before heading into the ballpark.

Here is my future ballplayer jumping against the Green Monstah to catch a fly ball!

Part of the tour, we were able to go down onto the field.  Alexander kept asking if we would be on the field and when our tour guide told us the special surprise I thought Alexander was the loudest of all.  It was amazing to be on the field and to touch the Green Monstah.

The tour brought us all around the ballpark - thru Rightfield, thru the concourse, onto the field, onto the Green Monstah seats (which as an amazing view of the field), and then into the oldest Grandstand seats in baseball.

It was such a great treat to go on the tour!

First Red Sox Game...

Today, Alexander went to his first Red Sox game!  He has been to Fenway for his first trip not that long ago but today was for his first Red Sox game - he was very excited!  He wanted to see Wally, Pedroia & Youkilis.

I was hoping to get there early enough for batting practice but parking proved to be a lot busier than I anticipated.  Who would have thought for a day game in the middle of the week?!

Kevin Youkilis' charity was collecting books for kids & need.   We dropped our books off and Alexander was so excited to put them in the box...I don't know if because all of the women were ooohing over how cute he was and how thankful they were or that he got a Youk bracelet.  But it was very sweet.

We got to our seats and he just wanted to sit there and take it all in.  He kept asking what things were and who the different people on the field were.  Here is Alexander right near Pesky Pole!

He was so excited when Wally was on the field!

Alexander was so excited during the game - asking what was going on, who was hitting, and cheering when the Sox made a play or scored.  He also was so intrigued that every time there was a play in the field Pedroia would JUMP high in the air - even if the ball was never hit.

I kept telling him that we could leave when he wanted and he said we stayed til the end.  That's my boy!

When the game was over (Red Sox lost 5-4), Alexander asked if he could walk around Fenway Park so that's just what we did.  We walked all around - we went into the Souvenir store on Yawkey Way, watched some players (Adrian Gonzalez) get in their cars & leave, and then checked out the Ted Williams statue.

4 Fenway Franks, bag of peanuts, two drinks,  a bat, & a small Wally later - it was an amazing day!

First Trip to Fenway

Tonight, Alexander had his first trip to the beloved ballpark - Fenway Park! Mommy & Alexander went to the Cape Cod All-Star game which was held at Fenway Park. It was a perfect combination of the Cape Cod league and Fenway Park/Red Sox as this way he was able to route for the Chatham As while at Fenway. He was so excited to go and once we got there, walked up to the Green Monster he was beaming! It was a moment that I will always cherish when he grabbed my hand and said "Mommy are we really at Fenway Park, it's so big. I love you for bringing me".

Once inside, we ate Fenway Franks, peanuts, took in the home run derby (which a player from Chatham As won) and watched the game. We walked around a bit to find Wally and I wanted him to be able to see more of Fenway and I had to point out the Green Monster from inside the park. He was so into the game as he refused to leave and kept saying he was staying til the end. I didn't necessarily know whether or not he would want to stay the whole time but he did. He sang 'Take Me Out to the ballgame" and 'Sweet Caroline'. It was such a great night!
