Sesame Street Live...

Today was has turned out to become the annual trek to see Elmo & Sesame Street Live! It's coming to the point where Alexander knows that Elmo & friends come each year "to town" and that Elmo is on the big sign near Fenway Park. This year, Elmo & Friends were using their Green Thumbs to plant. We got there a bit early so we could get him something to eat but we may have gotten there too early as the poor kid then had to keep asking when the show was going to start. 25 minutes, 20 minutes, 15 minutes, etc etc etc. Thankfully Big Bird came on the speakers to let everyone know the show would be starting soon so he could stop asking Mimi to check her watch. However, once the show started he enjoyed singing along and he was the first one to clap and get excited.Overall, Alexander enjoyed himself but there are two observations from the show: 1) He really doesn't want them to come near him although he loves them (just from afar) and 2) He was ready to leave about 5 minutes after intermission ended however still kept his eyes on the stage watching the show.

Sesame Street Live...

Today, we went to see Sesame Street Live. This year's show was "Elmo Grows Up". At first we didn't tell Alexander where we were going for the potential barrage of questions about seeing Elmo...and it's probably for the best because once we told him in the car, he was asking "Where's Elmo?" We also told him we were meeting Mimi & Papi and his reaction was very cute. "I wanna hug Mimi, then Papi, then give kisses"
We drove up to the Arena and he kept asking if he was in Boston and what town he was in (can you tell we're working on towns). Once we parked, we waited for Mimi & Papi and were going to head inside. He was so excited to see them both that he was giving kisses & hugs at the entrance, causing a bit of a jam. Can't blame the kid for being excited.
We got to our seats, grabbed something quick to eat, and on with the show! The show was cute but definitely seemed to loose the momentum towards the middle of the show. Last year, the kids were singing through the entire show. This year, it seems as if they lost interest during the 2nd half. Alexander, although mesmerized, did keep asking Mimi if it was done.He was very excited to see Cookie and Elmo most because when they were on stage, he would point and say their names, everyone else he just stared at the stage. As the show ended, confetti came out of the ceiling and some landed right on Alexander - he thought that was pretty funny. Then it was time to go get something to eat, but not before a few family photo-ops!He did say he wanted to come back next year to see Elmo & Cookie again...

Sesame Street Live...

On Sunday, we went to see Sesame Street Live with Mimi & Papi. Alexander had a great time, and was very well behaved (despite not having a nap). He sat on Mimi's lap during the whole show, clapping and pointing out Elmo & Ernie!
