Quote of the Day...

While driving to Mimi & Papi's, Alexander had a doozy of a quote! We were getting closer to their house and this was our conversation:

Alexander: Are we almost at Mimi & Papi's?
Mommy: Yes, in about 5 minutes
Alexander: Ohhh, I can tell
Mommy: How?
Alexander: Because I can smell Papi
Mommy: What?
Alexander: Because I smell Papi's mustache
Mommy: Oh brother, you are hysterical

Quotes...

Here's a new one....

We were driving to Connor's birthday party and Alexander asked me a question about another driver after I told him they were not paying attention and his comment to me was:

"Well Mom, that's really unaccabub (unacceptable). they should know better"

I almost became the one not paying attention as he had me giggling

Quotes of the Week...

Some cute quotes of the week:

  • "Miss Cassie & I are going to get married and go to Aruba. We're going to have pretzel, chips & salsa because Miss Cassie like chips & salsa." (fyi, Alexander can show you where Aruba is on the globe)
  • "Mommy, did you know that I love you more than I love monkey? because that's a lot"
  • While at Grace's birthday party, the hostess tiptoed out of the circle to get a prop for the book:
Aidan: Okay, she's gone. We should all close our eyes and pretend we don't see her when she gets back
Alexander: Ooooooohhhh (in a very loud voice)
Rest of the circle erupts in giggles

Quotes...

This week gave us one of the most shocking quote yet...so much so Mommy almost drove off the road.

And the quote was:
"Christopher Columbus said the ocean blue ocean blue ocean blue in 1492"

I was in shock because I had no idea my 3 1/2 year old would know that much about history already. He was asking about trash day and I told him it would be on Thursday of this week due to the holiday. This was the rest of conversation:

Alexander: 'holiday?'
Mommy: 'Yes, we had a holiday this week for Columbus day'
Alexander: 'Columbus?'
Mommy: (wondering how to explain this to him) 'Yes, Columbus ...sailed the ocean blue'
Alexander: 'ohhh ocean blue'

And then he came out with his little ditty of 1492. I was so shocked & amazed that he kept saying it because he knew I was excited.

Quotes....

Here are some of the most recent & adorable quotes:

while at the table having dinner tonight, Alexander said to me in a very serious manner:

"Mom, we're at the table now, it's time to start our conbasahtion (aka conversation) and then start eating"

Another night at the dinner table, Alexander told us what he learned at school:

"When clorofilm goes away from leaves, the leaves turn green"

New Quote...

This morning, Alexander woke up at 5:30am and ended up coming into our room. Initially I thought that meant he was up for the day, but he ended up falling back to sleep. A little later on, he started to move around and blurted out:

  • "But I don't wanna go to school!"
Complete with whiny voice & whimper, all while sleeping! It was highly entertaining and some potential insight into what the future holds!

Then another quote about how excited he is for soccer
  • "I'm going to run up & down the field."
  • "Where's the coach? I want to show him I can kick"

Hello Mudda...

One of the funniest/curious things Alexander started doing during vacation is calling Daddy by a new name. He started calling him 'Fadda' out of the blue. Don't really know where it came from but I found it to be hilarious!

We would be at the beach and he would yell out "Fadda, oh Fadda" and then a bit later he would say, loudly, "Fadda I have to go pee".

He called him by that name for the good part of two days and I think the fact that I kept laughing made him say it more. A bit later on he would say "he's the Fadda but you're the Mudda"... Priceless!

Quotes, Quotes & More Quotes...

It appears that "Quote of the Week" may very well be a consistent topic here on the blog as we had a few funny one-liners this week!

  1. "What's that say, Mommy?" "Hallmark" "oooooh, just like my MASH Show" - At Stop & Shop, Mommy was buying a card and on the back was the Hallmark logo and he pointed it out and then said it was the same as MASH (the tv show MASH runs on the Hallmark channel - yet he hasn't watched MASH in over 6 months!)
  2. "I live on the Mass Pike" - when asked what street he lived on (we're practicing telling him his address) and this one was so funny that he had us laughing for few minutes as we didn't expect that
  3. "Elmo pooped out Mimi something bad" - when talking how Mimi was going to home to rest after the Sesame Street show because she was pooped (aka - tired)
  4. "Daddy threw out all of my belly ache too" - Daddy didn't feel too well so Alexander thought he was sick for the both of them
