Love...

It's not secret that I love Boston...and it makes me just as happy to see Alexander grow up with a deep affection for the city as well. I love that he can explain to me directions around the city, what different buildings are, and that he will always point out my Clock Tower Building to me!

I love spending time with Alexander in the city

Day in Boston...

Today, Alexander & Mommy spent the afternoon in Boston. We went to the Aquarium, took the T over to Copley, walked around Boylston, hung out in Fanueil Hall where we got cookies & ice cream. It was a fantastic day!

Day in Boston - Part II...

Since Alexander had been away for a few days, I decided to take Wednesday off to spend some quality time together. And since it was almost a year that we went into Boston with Stacey, Kelley & Elizabeth I figured it would be good to do our trip again. So the five of us drove into Mimi's work to park and then walked over to take the T. The kids loved riding the T and telling us how many stops we needed to take. Both Alexander & Elizabeth are very smart & entertaining,We then headed over to the Swan Boats for a ride. It was the first ride for both Elizabeth & Stacey. The kids loved it and loved watching the ducks follow us around. From there, we stopped at the playground before heading to lunch. After lunch in Govt Center, the kids had a blast making faces & just being kids. After lunch, we headed to the Aquarium. The main attraction of the day were those kooky sharks. I think they knew we had cameras as they kept posing for us. The kids loved the sharks and the turtles. As the day came to a close, we took the T back to Mimi's work where we got to say Hi before we all headed home for the day. All in all, a very happy & fun day!

Day in Boston...

Today we went into Boston for the afternoon - and had a jammed-packed afternoon!

We walked along the waterfront, headed to the Aquarium (where it pays to be a member because we could avoid the very long, very hot line out front) and enjoyed seeing the sea-life. Alexander was quite excited that the sharks were back from "vacation" and there were now 3 to enjoy!

After a snack at the Aquarium, we headed out to walk around. We walked over to Fanueil Hall where Alexander wanted to get some ice cream. Before we got there, we stopped at a water fountain where kids & adults were cooling themselves off from the heat! From there we walked towards Govt Center & stopped to watch a street group perform. At the end, they asked for volunteers and asked "you, cool dude" pointing towards Alexander to join them but he became incredibly shy and turned them down. (He didn't like the invite at all as he actually started to tear up that he would have to go in the middle) After the performance, we went up the Govt Center steps as Alexander knew where the train station was and that he wanted to take a train ride. (Can I just say how much I love that Alexander loves this city and loves the subway?!)

We took a train ride back over to the Aquarium and walked around the waterfront a bit more. And before we headed home, Alexander rode the Merry Go Round! All in all a very nice afternoon in the city!

Shipping Off to Boston...

Today, Mommy & Alexander spent the day in Boston! It was such a perfect day - the weather was great and Alexander was very well behaved! We first walked around the waterfront where Alexander checked out some boats, both big & small. After some lunch, we walked over to Fanueil Hall where we walked around a bit before we got some ice cream. Alexander almost dropped his ice cream but between his shirt and a nice woman to help us out as she came over to rescue the falling ice cream he was still able to eat his chocolate ice cream.

We then took the T over to the Boston Common where we got (yet another) ice cream and then played on the playground. After the playground, we walked around the Boston Common for a bit - took some photos and then took the T back to Govt Center. We were headed back towards the car but Alexander saw a street performer so he wanted to take a peek. He stood on a mini wall, watching him, but didn't pay attention that as he was taking steps to the side he would run out of room. And then BAM - he fell off the wall and hit his leg on the wall and a planter. I thought for sure he banged his penis again as that's what he immediately began to grab as he screamed. Quickly, I picked him up and brought him off to the side to get him to calm down and make sure he was okay. As it turns out, he mainly fell down on the upper inside of his thigh and everything is a-ok.
As we were heading back to the car (with some residual tears), we stopped at the hot dog stand at the Aquarium to get a hot dog (that Mr. sad face didn't end up eating)...so we headed back to see the boats and make our way home. Overall it was a fantastic day for the two of us!

Weekend Activities...

This weekend, while Daddy was visiting friends in NJ, Mommy & Alexander had a bonding weekend. We bonded over potty breaks, singing "Happy Birthday"to Christopher, building blocks, pool time, and some really cool firsts: First ride on the red line, first visit to the Swan Boats & 'Make Way for Ducklings' statues.

We also hung out at the playground for a bit, after a trip on the merry-go-round!
