Aquarium...

To help celebrate Mommy's Birthday weekend, we went to the Aquarium with Mimi & Papi. Thankfully for our membership, we were able to walk right in and pass the CRAZY line. We had a lot of fun checking out the penguins and watching the sharks swim around.  We got up to the top of the tank and Alexander asked a question about coral and how it survives in the tank.

His favorite part is definitely checking out the sharks in the tank!

Aquarium...

Today Alexander & Mommy went to the Aquarium with Marina & Deanna.  The kids had a great time and it was such a great way to hang out while the kids enjoy each other & all the fish.

We checked out the sharks, the penguins, the sea lions and the sting rays in the touch tank!  Marina & Alexander had a blast checking it all out together!

Trip to the Aquarium...

Alexander, myself, Mimi, Sharon, Chris & Claire headed into the Aquarium.  The kids loved it - Chris was great showing Alexander all the different fish, even though Alexander only cared about the sharks in the big tank.

It was a great afternoon and the kids had a blast checking out the fish, touch tank for Rays, sharks & penquins!

Aquarium...

Today, Alexander & Mommy went to the Aquarium for some fun and to enjoy the spring weather!
There is a new exhibit opening up which is a shark & sting ray touch tank. So, as members, we got to enjoy this part (although I only saw sting rays in the tank) of the aquarium without so many people around. He loved it, although he didn't want to touch anything.Alexander was more excited to see the sharks than anything else! So we went to the Giant Ocean Tank walking around to see the sharks.
He really wasn't excited about any thing else in the tank, including the cute turtles. After that we went to the crab & starfish touch tanks. Of course, Alexander still was not interested in touching anything but made one of the workers pick up a crab for him!We went to the cafe for a little snack and ended up spending most of the time in the cafe taking pictures by using the timer. We then went to check out the Sea Lions outside and Alexander was in awe of how they same and how fast they were. He could have stood there for hours (or chased them back & forth). The best part of the whole day was as we were leaving Alexander pointed at the Custom House Clock Tower which resulted in the cutest conversation:
A: Mommy, that's your favorite building
M: Yes, yes it is.
A: We should take a picture
M: With us?
A: Yes, and the timer
M: Okay
A: Mommy, I just love you and if you bleed I will take care of you. If you have a headache I will stay with you forever to make you feel the best. I just love you.

My most favorite conversation of the weekend!

Trip to the Aquarium...

This afternoon, we ventured out to the Aquarium! It was a nice outing despite the frigid temperatures by the water! Alexander was incredibly excited to see the sharks & the penquins, however the sharks were the exciting part of the adventure! He got to check out the crabs & the starfish too....he didn't touch any craps but was great with the starfish & even kept them underwater this time!He loves to check out the tank & see all of the fish swimming around. A couple times the shark swam right by us and we were able to see that he had a boo-boo. He wasn't as impressed with Myrtle the turtle even though we got to see her once at the top of the tank.

Overall a good time at the aquarium and the wee lad was well-behaved! After the Aquarium, we went out to dinner and then headed home...

Aquarium Fun...

Today, Alexander & I had a play date for the Aquarium with friends. My friend Kelley has a daughter, Elizabeth, who is 6 years old & the two of them had a blast! We rode the train to Gov't Center where the kids got to walk around & take in the city. The kids pretended to go into City Hall where Elizabeth said they were going to work.Once in the Aquarium, they couldn't wait to see the sharks inside the big tank! They loved seeing the penquins (who were taking showers), turtles & other fish but it was the sharks that had them the most excited! We went over to the crabs/starfish exhibit before lunch where they were more excited about starfish then the other sea creatures. After lunch, we checked out the jelly fish exhibit. The two of them ran around posing on the different jellyfish & had a blast! On our way back to the T, we walked thru Faneuil Hall where we checked out the historical sites and the two of them posed for us! There is no camera either of these two don't love! We had a great time!

Trip to the Aquarium...

Today, Mommy & Alexander went to the Aquarium again! But the plus side was that it was not raining as the following three times. We also met Mimi & Papi at the Aquarium since it was a holiday. Alexander had a blast checking out the penquins with Mimi & the sharks and turtles in the big tank with Papi.Another thing Alexander loves to do at the Aquarium is to touch the starfish & other creatures. He was pretty good about keeping things in the water but it was very crowded which made it hard to get any room. So he & Mimi finagled themselves a spot and had a blast!
Then we walked around a bit more before heading to the cafe for some lunch. Overall, everyone had a great time! And I know Alexander can't wait to go back...

Turtles have Poops...

This morning, Alexander & Mommy went to the Aquarium. It was a very last minute, spur-of-the moment, idea. But I figured I could bring him in early, and still get home for a lazy afternoon (Mommy has had migraines & this morning was no exception).

We saw the penguins, which are still his favorite, turtles, two big sharks, stingrays & jellyfish. He also went over to the touch exhibit where he held a star fish, a crab & a snail. He did pretty good with them except he wanted to splash water.

Then we walked by the "Hospital" area and they had a turtle in a tub (he had a cold). Alexander was so excited to watch the turtle flap around but even more excited when the worker came over, with gloves on, to clean up the poop. It was his most favorite part for the rest of the day "Momma, turtles have poops and gloves on".

After we got a light lunch, we headed back to the parking garage. We walked along the waterfront and Alexander expressed his dislike for seagulls & pigeons. "Me no like birdies". Overall, we had really nice morning & have become experts in the Aquarium.

Aquarium Pics...

Here are some pictures of our trip to the Aquarium...

Alexander & I taking in the penguin exhibit - he *LOVES* penguins!Ooh look more penguins...He wanted me to take a picture because this penguin was waving at him. And I quote "Mommy picture, penguin waving at me. Hi penguin!"Here he is holding a starfishAnd trying to measure up next to a shark to see how tall he is but he kept slouching...

Aquarium Visit...

Mommy & Alexander went to the Aquarium on Saturday to help ignore the fact that it was absolutely pouring out & being at home wouldn't be all that much fun. Daddy had a softball tournament and was gone the whole day so it was just the two of us.
On the way in, the rain was coming down so hard I couldn't even hear Alexander in the backseat. Crazy rain. We parked the car & walked our way over to the Aquarium. Alexander was helping direct us by pointing the umbrella which of course didn't help with keeping us dry. But fun none the less.
We got there early enough were there was no lines & barely a crowd inside. Timing was it was perfect. We put our stuff in a locker, which Alexander helped with, so I didn't have to worry about carrying all that around while also watching him & helping him see things. As soon as you walk in, there is the penquin exhibit. Alexander loved this. The entire time there, he could not get enough of the penquins. He also loved it when kids stood next to him at the glass - he would point to the penquins for them and laugh up a storm.
Then we walked around and checked out the different tanks. For the most part, Alexander was much more into going back to check out the penquins. The big tank in the middle didn't hold his attention as much as I thought, especially considering we saw two really big turtles (he loved those). He was not impressed by the shark or the stingray at all. We saw a large octupus, eel, froggies, turtles, shark, stingray, penquins, & an array of fish. He did get to touch a starfish but he seemed more interested in looking around, splashing the water, or just seeing how high he could climb up. Again, it was all about the penquins.
Overall, he was very well behaved and we enjoyed ourselves. After walking around, we went to grab some lunch. It was a great view overlooking the harbor. Alexander enjoyed checking out the boats as they were swaying in the wind & rain. Then we headed back to the car and Alexander found every single puddle from the aquarium to the car & made sure to make the biggest splashes. He was so giggly by the time we reached the parking garage that he was almost jumping in puddles towards other people...but he made sure that both of us were drenched!

All in all, a very good day with my boy.

Aquarium Guy...

Today, the Aquarium guy came to Alexander's school with all sorts of sea creatures.

He brought all sorts of fishes, snails & starfish. Alexander liked checking out the snails but he was more excited that he got to hold a starfish all by himself!

Alexander loves sea creatures!

Swimming with the Fishes...

Today, Alexander went to the New England Aquarium for the first time. He loves to make fish faces and he loves turtles so we thought it would be fun. It was Mommy, Alexander, Grammie & Grampie. Daddy couldn't join us as he has tickets to tonight's Red Sox game (yah, how that's fair, I'll never know...I jest!).

When we got there they were cleaning the outside tanks for the Sea Lions. He was a bit timid but did think it was exciting. We got inside and saw the penquins first. He loved the penquins and loved to follow them as they swam around.
After the penquins, we decided to walk around the Giant Fish Tank in the middle. We saw divers in the tank feeding & cleaning. Alexander was more excited to see the bubbles from their diving tanks!! We saw sharks, big fishes, little fishes, stingrays, and the big turtle! We went all the way to the top so Alexander could look in the tank! He just liked to look through the glass but not necessarily at anything and then run around the tank.
We headed back down to the freshwater exhibit so he could hold a starfish. That didn't work out so well because all he wanted to do was put his hands in the water and splash. And I'm sure the folks next to us didn't want to get *that* wet. We walked around and saw more fish & turtles. Then it was time to grab some food which Alexander did very well with. He loved his hot dog, french fries and even a few bites of Mommy's pizza.

Mother venting moment: Before leaving, I went to change his diaper. We were washing our hands getting ready to leave and a couple teenage girls were standing in front of the mirror checking out their hair. I was blocking Alexander so they wouldn't run him over. One girl walked around and the 2nd girl almost bumped into him but said excuse me. The 3rd one bumped into him and almost knocked him over. I said "excuse me be careful where you walk" and she shot me a dirty look. I said "no, don't give me attitude when you clearly are completely rude" The Mommy-genes were out in full force. If I still didn't have to pick up the stuff and keep an eye on Alexander, I would have totally ripped that girl a new one!

After the aquarium, we walked around outside a bit checking out the scenery. Alexander was checking out the horse, the birds, the boats, and loved running up & down the dock. I think he enjoyed it more when people would chase him and then let him run down! Overall a fun day!
