Happy Easter...

Happy Easter!Alexander was very excited because the Easter Bunny brought him a green Easter basket just how he asked! He was more excited about the bubbles and to take all of the green "grass" out of the basket! We then went to 9:30 mass at St. Marks - Alexander was very well behaved besides the constant comment of "I don't want to go to church" but we managed to keep him entertained enough to last through mass.
After mass we headed to Mimi & Papi's for dinner. Before dinner, we got to enjoy the beautiful weather and play outside with bubbles & balls. It was a perfect day weather-wise. We had a blast playing with the bubble wand and Alexander kept trying to eat the bubbles. Then Chris & Claire came so he got to play soccer, kickball, and chase with the big kids outside. We had some dinner and then it was time for an Easter Egg hunt - Alexander found the most which is surprising know how fast Chris & Claire are. So after some downtime & a few family pics it was time to go home ... another successful Easter!

Easter Fun...

Easter Fun at Mimi & Papi's

Alexander woke up at a reasonable hour (thankfully) and had a morning of playtime, tubby, a walk with Mimi, and then took a good nap. He woke up right in time for dinner. And Alexander surprised us again by eating a very good dinner, complete with ham, carrots & corn! No PB&J dinner for him this year!
We had an Easter Egg Hunt with Chris & Claire. Alexander did pretty well against the big kids and found 6 eggs. At first he didn't really want to participate but once he saw the kids find some eggs he got all excited at finding eggs and putting them into his bag.
Since Alexander isn't all that into sweets, the fact that he only wanted one chocolate chip cookie was his dessert and then he played with Chris & Claire.

Easter Photoshoot...

We had a mini Easter Photoshoot at home...and Alexander did extremely well posing with the bunny ears, basket & eggs... although once we tried to add the tail, he seemed to loose interest.

2007 vs 2008

What a difference a year makes (give or take a week) for comparison sake...

Here is a picture from last year vs. this year's Easter pictures

Easter 2008...

Easter was a lowkey celebration for us this year. I think everyone was exhausted & overspent from yesterday's festivities so we just kept it really mellow. We went over my parent's house for dinner; Sharon & the kids joined us as well (Gary still has the flu).

We hit some traffic (ugh - I hate traffic...) so when we got there it was almost time to eat. Alexander didn't want to take his afternoon nap and fought going down. He did sleep but only for about 40 minutes. After dinner, the kids had a mini easter egg hunt outside. Somehow Alexander managed to get the most eggs - maybe because he had Auntie Alyson helping him.

After dessert and some play time, we were ready to hit the road (Mommy & Daddy were exhausted). We hit traffic again (did I mention I wasn't fond of traffic) and it took us longer than normal to get home. Thankfully Alexander finally fell asleep in the car, so once home I just transferred him from the carseat to his crib.

Overall, a nice yet lowkey day. Here are some pictures of the day:

Happy Easter...

Happy Easter (a day late)... We have celebrated Alexander's first holiday and besides the torture of being made to wear bunny ears, it was a very nice day. We went over my uncle & aunt's house for a low-key Easter dinner. However, before we went over - I had to take a few pictures with the ears. At first, Alexander was content but then it was a different story - he wanted no part of the ears.

Aunt Alyson brought him an outfit that she was hoping he would fit into since he doesn't fit into any of his other clothes and all of the sleeves on preemie clothes are too short on him. It's such a cute outfit too! The onsie was a bit big but the vest fit perfectly. The pants.... well that's a different story - they were swimming on him. But he looked so dashing in his outfit (and something that wasn't pajamas).

Alexander loves the car! He sleeps the entire time he's in the car (which was good because the drive home was long).

I have also discovered that when sleeping the little guy snores occassionally. It's quite cute because he'll even open his eyes yet still snore - interesting. He'll also scoot all around. If you lay him down in one spot, he'll be in a completely different spot 5 minutes later. He can't be still even in his sleep...just like Daddy.

Well it's almost time for Alexander to wake up from him nap ...
