Official...

It's official...Alexander has hit another milestone, just a week & a half after his 6th birthday.

He lost his first tooth!

He has been teasing (or fibbing depending on how you look at it) that he lost his tooth for about a week now. However, you can tell he hasn't because he's not excited. This morning, he went in to brush his teeth using his timer. And I don't know if he was trying to beat the timer or brush hard to get the tooth out, but it worked! His tooth came out! Along with a lot of blood. Who knew losing a tooth caused that much blood. I think it was because of how it came out - the pressure of the tooth brush and the force of a 6 yr old.
We cleaned up the little tooth and he rinsed his mouth until the blood stopped - it wasn't that long, but did surprise me with the amount of blood. It was unexpected to say the least.

He was so excited to be able to go to school and finally put a mark on the tooth board, and also be the first one for April.

He has a 2nd wiggly tooth right next to the first one so I won't be surprised if that falls out fairly quickly as it no longer has support.

It exciting stuff and we're getting ready for the tooth fairy!

First Time for Everything...

So despite being away for a few days, Alexander had one of *those* moments that every Mommy dreads.

Today, I took the day off to spend with Alexander since I hadn't seen him. We went out to lunch, ran a few errands and went to get his 3 year pictures taken. Well, after pictures Alexander started to meltdown due to the fact he was tired. He didn't want to hold my hand in the parking garage so I went to pick him up and he got mad. So he sat on the floor of the parking garage crying (yes, I made sure it was out of the way of cars and I stood block). Finally he looked at me and said "I don't like you very much, Mommy"

At first I was a bit sad but I knew he was utterly exhausted because then he looked at me, cried some more and I asked if he still didn't like me and he said "noooooo, I need a hug".

But man for a few seconds my stomach sank...good thing we did had a cuddle-hug to make up for it!

Standing up on his own...

Here are shots that Daddy took of Alexander pulling himself up on his carseat, by himself. It may look as though my hands are there holding him, but it's photo-trickery. I was sitting back just keeping my hands there in case he fell, but I assure you I was not helping him in anyway.
Let's see what he pulls himself up onto next...

Milestone...

We've hit a milestone!

Yesterday, while lying in his pack & play, Alexander rolled over all by himself. I put him in there on his stomach and came in to check on him and he was mid-roll (hence the picture). he went from his stomach to his back without any problems!

I'm such a proud mommy.

I also think I've figured out why he won't sleep in his bassinet, it's too restrictive. This kid likes room - he needs to move. When in his pack & play, he will start at one direction and when I come in to check on him, he's either turned himself 180* or 360* the other direction. Certainly, not like his Mommy who can stay in one position all night.

Saturday we went to my cousin's graduation party where Alexander got to meet my grandparents so we got a picture of Four Generations. I'll upload those soon - but now it's diaper time.
