Halloween Parade....

The annual Halloween Parade at school...was a huge success! All the kids were dressed up in cute costumes & there was a huge turnout by the parents. There had to have been at least 40-50 parents there to enjoy the parade!Alexander's class had a Superman, two Spidermans, three Firemen, Thing 1 & Thing 2 & lots of princesses! My handsome Superman - his expression is priceless!

Halloween Parade...

Friday was the annual Halloween Parade at Alexander's school, followed by a Halloween Party. This year, they decorated school up a bit more than they have in the previous two years which made Alexander a bit weary. (He was a tad upset during drop-off and really wanted no part of the decorations.) However, Miss Lori said that once it was time to get changed into costume he was fine & ready to go. He was extremely excited when I got to class that he could barely sit still during song time.Once everyone had their costumes on, it was time for the parade. In Alexander's class, there was a lion, pirate, bumble bee, chipmunk, Mickey Mouse, two princesses & the golfer. They lined up and got ready to walk in the parade. The parade seemed a bit disjointed as not all the classes stayed together, so it felt more like a walk around the building then a parade, but the kids were excited nonetheless. While walking, I heard teachers checking out the other kids costumes. One of them said "oh goodness, look at how cute Alexander is as a golfer", the other teacher agreed, and the first one said "well he looks the most like his normal clothes". I took it as a compliment that my kid is always nicely dressed & super cute! After the walk, they stopped at the two neighboring businesses to "trick or treat". They guys were really sweet and gave out candy to each kid in the trick or treat bags. Then it was time to go to the karate studio next door. It was dark & decorated for halloween...I thought for sure some kid (probably mine) would be completely freaked out due to the cobwebs & smoke machine...no crying, but a lot of weary kids. Later on my child explained, many times, that he did not like the 'smoke man'.

After trick or treating the kids went inside to trick or treat to the other classrooms. Alexander didn't want me to leave again, so we had to distract him. Miss Lori asked him to be her helper and go get all the fruit we brought for the party...this helped! All in all, a fun little Halloween parade.

And we got a picture of Connor, Alexander & Aidan - the three musketeers. Of course this was the best one I got where at least two of them were looking!
As usual, I've blocked out the faces of other kids in the pictures.

Halloween Parade...

There was a Halloween Parade today at School. It was very similar to last year where they walked around the 'block'...
Alexander got into his costume without incident and even kept the hood on...they didn't want to hold the ropes but we were quite happy to ride in the buggy. It was a fairly quick parade around the block, without incident!
Alexander sat with his buddy, Aidan, in the back of the buggy and they were both quite happy back there.
This is Alexander's class, minus a few kids. Ms. Mary Jo is in the orange shirt.

As usual, I blocked the faces out of the other kids...
