Snow fun...

Today we got a little bit of snow, maybe 3-4".  Compared to the amount & frequency of snow we got last year, this was a tiny little blip. Alexander was still able to go out and and play in it for a bit!

He ran around, shoveled the front yard and tried to throw snowballs but it was far too fluffy

Snowtober...

Yes, it's only October 30th and we have already gotten our first snow fall and first snow storm!  We got a fluke snow storm yesterday and it was quite a doozy...because the fact that a lot of trees still have leaves it really impacted fallen trees/branches. 

We lost power at our house around 6:15pm Saturday night shortly after Daddy & Alexander got home from uncle Matt's.  Because it didn't look like it was coming back on any time soon, they headed to Steve & Carolyn's for the evening.  That way Alexander would be able to play with the boys while remaining warm.

The next day, we had our very own snowman (about the height of Mommy).  Daddy & Alexander did a great job putting him together.  Who would have thought we'd have a big snowman in October?  And thankfully the power came back on Sunday morning so we were lucky.

Ginormous....

The snow outside of our house is just ridiculous. There's no other word to describe it - except that the snow piles are GINORMOUS! There's no where to put it anymore! This is what it looks like outside our front bay window - you can't even seen the driveway or the street

Snow Bunny....

Yup...it snowed again! Yup, it just seems to keep snowing! Yup, we've had a big storm every week since Christmas! Yup, our snow piles are taller than Alexander and Mommy - soon probably both of us combined!It snowed Thursday which meant yet another snow day for Alexander. Daddy took this one (as we are taking turns), and they went out to shovel & play in the snow. However it's getting so deep & crunchy that it's hard to walk let alone play.

But Daddy was able to dig a small igloo for Alexander!And yup, more snow is forecasted for this week!

Snow Fun...

Saturday afternoon, Uncle Matt & Michael came over to hang out for the afternoon!The boys went sledding next door & had a blast banging into each other! They played inside with the cars, trains & we even had our own game of football upstairs!

My Own Snow Man...

We had our first big snow storm of the season the day after Christmas...we didn't get a lot in our area and especially at our house due to wind drifts. In some places of our front yard, there was a mound of snow up to my knee. In other spots, you could see grass.We weren't able to go out in play in the snow during the actual snow day as the winds were pretty strong & cold. But thankfully, Alexander did get some snow time in before the warmer temperatures came & did a lot more melting.My handsome snow man...

Let It Snow...

We had our first blizzard of the 2009-2010 winter season...and although it wasn't necessarily a blizzard for us, we did get about a foot of snow. And while we are typically in the heart of all crappy, snowy weather Mimi & Papi's house got more than we did this time around. Whew!The three of us got bundled up to shovel & play in the snow. For the type of snow we got (light & fluffy), I do not recommend throwing caution to the wind and just falling backwards into the snow to do a snow angel. There's not enough snow cushion! OUCH!Alexander loved the snow and he actually did a great job shoveling. He would pick some up and throw it on the side. In about 10 years, he'll be doing the whole driveway himself!

Snow Fun...

Friday afternoon, we got our first big snow storm of the season. Actually, it's snowed for 48 consecutive hours. Dan picked Alexander up from school around noon on Friday to make sure they didn't get stuck in the snow storm.

Before bed, we got all dressed up in his snow gear to go play out in the snow. He had his coat, snow pants, boots, hat & mittens. He was all bundled up! Once we got outside, he wasn't all that excited about actually being out there. The snow/wind was hitting him in the face - and it wasn't all that pleasant!

But he still managed to stay outside for a bit...and even helped do his part to shovel! Daddy has a future shoveler!

Winter Snow...

We got our first Winter snow of 2007 this past Monday. While Dan was out cleaning off the car & the driveway, I decided to snap a few pictures.


Thankfully we did not get a lot of snow at all but the bad thing is that it ended up being covered by a nice blanket of ice. Oh joys...


While I'm not fond of snow at all, I can appreciate how visually appealing it can look in photos. I did like how you can see the snow falling.
