Saturday Fun...

Today was so nice we decided to make the most out of it and try to spend as much of it outside as possible!

We headed to Castle Island to see the planes, boats & water! Plus, Mommy could enjoy the skyline! We enjoyed some lunch from Sullivan's and had to fight the crazy seagulls off who wanted our lunch. We prevailed! After lunch, we walked around the Sugarbowl and then got some ice cream. After Castle Island, which had a chilly wind, we headed down to Pawtucket to check out a PawSox game. This will be Alexander's 3rd PawSox game this season! We got some general admission tickets and hung out in the outfield lawn. Alexander had a blast - from eating peanuts, singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame (which is on video), and going to see Sox (a mascot) again! He did inform us that Paws (the boy mascot) likes to hide because we can never find him.

Here he is SoxAnd Mommy & Alexander chillin' on the lawn
All tuckered out (yet he was faking it)
Singing with Daddy
Overall, it was a great day & we enjoyed the nice weather!

Castle Island...

Alexander & I went to Castle Island again today. Daddy went to the TPC Golf and since it was beautiful out, we couldn't pass up the opportunity.

It was packed because it was so nice out...it took me a bit to find a place to park. Thankfully it was nice out because I parked a ways away. We walked over to Sullivan's to get hot dog & french fries. Alexander was more interested in the french fries this time ... can't blame him! These french fries are good!!

He loves this place as much as I do for three reasons:
*Planes
*Dogs
*Birds

People must think something is wrong because Alexander is constantly screaming...but it's because he's excited to see either a plane, dog or bird. He gets even happier when a dog comes up to the carriage.

We were walking around and I thought it would be fun to take him out of the stroller and run around for a bit. Silly me. He didn't want to get back into the stroller, he just wanted to run! Needless to say, he was a little mad at me when I put him back in the stroller so we could finish walking around and ultimately back to the car.

But the weather was perfect for a day at Castle Island...nice way to end Labor Day.

Castle Island...

Dan, Alexander & I went to Castle Island this afternoon to enjoy the beautiful weather (not a rainy cloud in sight)!!

We ran into a bit of traffic so the poor kid was very good since he probably just wanted to get out of the car. However once out he was so excited to see water, dogs, and people on bikes! Everytime a dog would be in view, he would scream with delight.

We went to Sullivan's and got some food and found a perfect spot on the grass to eat where we could watch the planes from Logan Airport take off. Nothing like a hot dog for Alexander, cheeseburger for Daddy, and french fries w/vinegar for Mommy. Everytime the plane would go above us both Alexander & Daddy would look up and follow the plane.

After lunch, we played a bit on the grass and then walked around the castle. As we walked around, Alexander was torn between looking up to see the planes overhead or watching the doggies walk by. After the walk, it was time to head home since the little guy was starting to rub his eyes non-stop.

Next time, we'll have to bring him on the playground and let him run wild! The more and more we go, hopefully the more he'll love this place as much as Mommy does...

Castle Island Part II...

Today was a perfect summer's day and a perfect day to go to Castle Island. It was also Dot Day but since we weren't quite sure how Alexander would handle a parade we opted for just Castle Island and not both. Alyson & I took Alexander for his first trip to Castle Island last summer (Read all about it here), but this time he was able to enjoy it a lot more as he didn't sleep during part of it. It's actually cute to see how much of a little baby he looks then as opposed to the little boy now.

When we got there, it was time for Alexander to have lunch so Mommy got him a hot dog & french fries. He did really well with them too. I expected him to shove the french fry into his mouth but instead he took little bites. He loved people watching, but he was mainly dog & bird watching. He can spot a bird out of a tree quite quickly.

After lunch, we walked around Castle Island and enjoyed the great weather. There was a perfect breeze to cool us off. We even changed his diaper al fresco which he seemed to enjoy looking up at the trees. After our walk, Alyson & Grammie wanted to bring him down to the water. It would be interesting to see how he would do with the sand/water. As expected, he wouldn't put his feet down but he did love feeling the water with his feet or hands.
Alexander showed off his walking and with Grampie's help even chased some birds around. The playground was a bit busy, but maybe next time he'll be able to go and play. Hopefully this will be something we do several times this summer as it's a perfect place to hang out on a summer's day.
