Weekly Glance...

Weekly Glance (Monday, October 12th - Sunday, October 18th, 2009)

  • A very quiet, low-key week
  • Started the week at school a bit whiny but was much better by the end of the week
  • Miss Lori said Alexander whined most of Monday asking for Mommy
  • Sleeping as been an "issue" in the sense that he's woken up every night and wants to come in our bed due to teething. I keep trying to get him to lie back down but alas... (I think do I want to fight at 2am or do I just take him in so we at least both get sleep)
  • Went with Mommy on Wednesday night to get a haircut & did exceptionally well
  • After the haircut, we went to Target to visit our Target friend and have our hot dog & milk (it's been a couple of weeks since we've gone - they were very excited to see each other)
  • Went to the dump with Daddy to dump leaves on Saturday morning
  • Daddy & Alexander went to Dunkin' Donuts after their trip to the dump
  • After a nap, we went to Steve & Carolyn's house to spend time with everyone
  • Got to visit Grandma & Pop pop along with Matt, Laura & all the boys
  • Played blocks, loved seeing Bella, did well eating some new foods over Steve & Carolyn's house
  • Sang Happy Birthday to Michael
  • Sunday morning, went with Daddy over to Uncle Matt's house to spend more time with Grandma & Pop pop before they went home to NJ
  • Does a great job getting his teeth brushed when he has someone else put on the 'dentist gloves'
  • Phrase of the week "Have some?" and then he'll put out his hand and offer you a cup of tea
  • Made lots of Halloween crafts at school this week

Halloween Costume...

We received Alexander's Halloween costume yesterday. Anyone want to take a guess as to what he'll be?

Here is a hint: "Fore"

Musical prodigy...

Okay, maybe not a prodigy, but get this boy some lessons...

Family Time...

Grandma & Pop pop from NJ were up visiting for the weekend. The boys had some football games and then we were all going to hang at Steve & Carolyn's to spend some time together.

Alexander was exciting to go to Steve's house because he wanted to see Bella the cat, however once we were there & he saw Bella he was afraid of her. He needed someone to hold him or he would be a bit scared. Thankfully he did warm up to her and by the time we were leaving he was walking up to her on his own, patting her tail.

He got to play with the boys and then we all had some lunch. It was great! Alexander had some pepperoni, salami, cappacole, and lettuce. He did very well eating some antipasto salad. No PBJ for him!

We also got to celebrate Michael's birthday (he'll be 3 on Monday) by singing Happy Birthday & enjoying some cake! Alexander was all excited for the cake but ultimately did not have one bite.

Grandma gave him a cool pair of pajamas along with some Halloween cookies! Alexander had a blast hanging out with everyone, he also stuck to his tradition that when around Grandma she's the only one who can change his diaper.

Haircut...

Alexander's hair was starting to get a bit long so rather than wait when it's in his eyes. We went to our regular place after school and he was so excited...certainly a different change of pace from when he first started getting haircuts.

We had to wait a bit but that didn't change his mood or excitement level. Once it was our turn, he followed the woman over to her chair and actually tried to climb up on his own. She started with the clippers and thankfully they tickled him more than anything so he thought that was a riot. Then it was time for her to spray his head & use scissors. He looked at me and said "water snip snip time".

Overall it was very successful and next time I'll have to remember the camera for a happy haircut moment!

Birthday Celebration...

Today, after their trip to the Topsfield Fair, we had an ice cream cake & we sang "Happy Birthday" for Papi's Birthday.

Alexander did a fantastic job singing and then helping Papi blow out the candles!

(PS - not sure if I have pics or not yet!)

Topsfield Fair...

Today, Alexander went to the Topsfield Fair with Mimi & Papi! It was something that they used to take us to as kids as well. They met up with their friends who also have a grandson, Brandon, the same age as Alexander.

The boys had a blast playing together (Monkey-See, Monkey-Do)! They saw lots of different animals (sheep, cows, horses, camels, elephants, chickens). They rode on some rides (Merry-Go-Round, train, car, and tractors).

They also had lots of cool fair food which of course he'd never eat at home (for example: lo mein noodles). Alexander came home with a cool Thomas the Train balloon too!

Everyone enjoyed their time at the fair!

Boys Time...

Things went very well with Daddy & Alexander while Mommy was away for a few days.

Alexander was very cooperative each morning as Daddy got both Alexander & himself ready. There were only a few moments during bedtime where Alexander was fussy/asking for Mommy but he did eventually calm down.

Daddy even told Alexander where Mommy took her trip and he replied with "hamas".

Male Bonding Time...

For some of this week, Daddy & Alexander are on their own for some good ole male-bonding time!

Mommy has a little trip for a family wedding so the boys are staying home to keep an eye on things.

Mommy has put everything together to make it easy for the boys. So here's hoping the boys have a fun time together while Mommy is gone.

Miss you boys!

Weekend Activities...

This weekend was a nice, lowkey weekend - just what we all needed after the busy few weekends.

Mommy & Alexander had their typical Saturday morning and we even had a breakfast picnic on the floor. Then, Daddy & Alexander went to go hang out at Uncle Matt's house for a bit on Saturday. Alexander & Michael played hide & seek and then had some lunch. After they came home, Alexander went down for a nap and took a 3 1/2 hour nap! He would have slept longer if I didn't try to move him into his crib (he fell asleep in his crib but then woke up 1/2 way through, so as I went to get him he said he wanted to lie down in Mommy's bed, so he cuddled with me for almost 2 more hours). Then we had some pizza & watched Harry Potter. I was quite surprised at how funny he thought it was rather than being scared.

Then today, Daddy & Alexander went to Dunkin Donuts & then went to see the trains. Alexander was quite impressed although they didn't have steam like Thomas. After a nap, the boys went out to mow the lawn & rake the leaves.

A nice, lowkey weekend...
