Weekly Glance...
Weekly Glance (Monday, February 21st - Sunday, February 27th, 2011)
- Had a good week at school - no timeouts and no issues
- Did nap every day at school except on Friday
- Had a great week of sleeping (stayed in his room each night, woke up at reasonable times & bedtimes weren't that bad for most of the week - just Friday night was rough)
- Celebrated Mommy's birthday on Monday - went out to lunch, shopping & indoor mini-golf
- Stop with Shop with Mommy on Thursday
- Haircut with Mommy on Friday
- Saturday morning was our weekly trip to Gymnastics then we went to visit Chris & Chris
- Alexander got to meet baby Bennett & then we played Candy Land & Memory at Chris' house
- Sunday morning was lowkey then Daddy & Alexander went to play indoor mini-golf with uncle Matt & Michael
- After mini-golf & some playing at home, all of the boys headed out to go sledding
- Seems to be quite a chatterbox this week - lots of questions, lots of loud/outdoor voices, and growls when he doesn't like being told what to do
- Was also quite lovey this week - Alexander said that he & Mommy should be married because that's what people do when they love each other, they get married like Ariel & Prince Eric
- Another thing he's been doing a lot is role playing...he'll be one character/person and he will assign people to you. Examples: Mommy is Triton, he is Ariel; Mommy is Nala, he is Simba; Mommy is Momma duck, he is baby duck (etc etc etc)
- He started playing with a new stuffed animal, doggy & brought him to school rather than monkey a couple of days (however he does seem to still cuddle Monkey at night)
- Played a lot of football this week (in the hopes of getting him to lose steam)
- Starting to realize that his birthday is up next and has asked several times if he's birthday is tomorrow (and doesn't seem to like my answer of in about three weeks)

Weekend Activities...
For a weekend that had no major plans, it was a pretty busy weekend!
Saturday
Started with gymnastics where he got to bring a buddy; he chose to bring his stuffed dog. They got to pretend to be prince or princesses and awake Sleeping Beauty while practicing on the bar and the spring board.
After gymnastics, we had some lunch at home before we headed over to Chris & Chris' house for a little visit. Alexander had not met Bennett yet so we figured it would be a nice yet low-key visit. At first, Alexander was a bit shy around Bennett and really didn't know what to make of him. I find it amusing that he thought Bennett was loud (when coughing or a bit fussy) considering how loud Alexander is himself. We played a few games of Candy Land, while Bennett took a little nap in his bouncy seat, in which Alexander did quite well. We then played Memory which Alexander simply wanted to turn over cards until he got a match & not really understanding you can only turn over two at a time. It was at this point in the afternoon, that I began to lose him due to his crankiness. So we headed home where we just chilled out at home before dinner.
Sunday
Sunday was a fairly quiet day. We relaxed in the morning, Alexander didn't wake up until 7a, and we all slept/relaxed in bed for a bit after that. That afternoon, Mommy ran some errands while Daddy & Alexander went to play indoor mini-golf with uncle Matt & Michael.
The boys came back to the house after mini-golf to play for a bit before they decided to go back out and do some sledding. Yes, we got about another 4-5" overnight and the boys still had some energy to burn. Then it was normal Sunday night - dinner, tubby, bedtime!

Mommy's Birthday - Part Two...
To celebrate Mommy's birthday, we went out for some lunch, shopping & indoor mini-golf.
We went to the mall where we walked around, Alexander checked out the fountain, did some shopping & returned a few items. Then we decided we should grab some lunch, however so did everyone else. The restaurant was pretty busy with people waiting as well...Alexander got a bit antsy but overall hung in there.
In true Alexander-fashion he was so excited about lunch & eating but when his pizza arrived, he barely ate.
After lunch, we knew Alexander still had some energy to burn so Dan suggested glow in the dark indoor mini-golf. Alexander loved it! Some holes he did great, others he just wanted to hit the ball as many times as possible! We had to end the round a bit early due to a bathroom break, but all in all it was a good day.

Gymnastics...
This week's gymnastics class was fun - Alexander learned how to start a hand stand and he's improving on his donkey kicks. However, this week had a bit more running around than usual so this gave him a "free pass" to be rambunctious. And it didn't help that they ended this week with a game of dodge ball. These poor girls didn't have a chance against Alexander...not only would he just run around, but he kept kicking balls around and most times they ended up in people's face. But with actual gymnastics skills, he did well on the beam, unbalanced bars, & rings...he was just overly excited.

It's Too Loud in Here...
Tonight, we had some crazy thunderstorms with some bright lightening...Lightening was so bright that even with shades down and lights on, you could clearly see the lightening. Thunder was so loud that Alexander was kind of nervous... so much so, he fell asleep with his blanket around his face so it could block his ears.At least he knew enough not to put the blanket ON his face...
