Today we had our annual Spaulding Family Gathering for the Flag/Plaque dinner.
We went to Mark & Nancy's which was nice because it also happened to be Kaileen's 16th Birthday.
We hung out with family, the kids played on a HUGE jumpy house and the flag & plaque was handed along for the next year!
This past week, Alexander had a pretty rough week at school. There was a lot of talking back, being fresh, not listening and even picking on one of his friends.
Throughout the week, the lack of listening was at an all time high. There were many times we would have to ask him to do something which then turned into telling him due to the lack of listening which only then escalated to a timeout or unhappy Mommy.
Supposedly, Alexander and a few other kids have been picking on another kid at school. They play with him but then they will antagonize him. It makes me very sad to hear (& see) my kid being a bully. He told me he kicked the poor kid and just wasn't very nice.
We've explained the importance of not picking on his friends or other kids at school as he would not like it if kids picked on him. We've also explained that if we hear he continues this behavior then he will get a punishment more than just no tv for an evening.
He needs to realize how serious this is and that he really needs to improve his listening.
Thursday night, Alexander got a little surprise - Mimi & Papi came to help pick him up at school.
He was going to have a 'playdate' with Mimi & Papi for the evening. So it's not really a playdate because they were babysitting while Mommy & Daddy went to see Harry Connick but that's what he called it.
They went out for dinner to the Pub, then they came home and after hanging out a bit, they got ready for bed. Alexander did well listening and paying attention and actually going to bed without an issue!

This year was a good Easter .... and I even happened to find my very own little Easter Bunny hiding in the meadow!
He was so excited to learn the Easter Bunny had come to our house and brought him a chocolate bunny!
And then we went to Mimi & Papi's after church for dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt with Chris & Claire
Alexander went to visit the Easter Bunny this year! He loved it - he was so excited! He wanted to sit there, pat him and give him high-fives for a very long time!
And even after our turn was done, he stood there wanting to talk to the Easter Bunny and tell him about his black eye (which you can't even see in the picture)
Alexander was inducted into the "Little Boy" hall of fame! He got his very first black eye!
He & Aidan were playing in the playground and were running around. At one point, they were running and not watching where they were going .... and then BAM! Alexander's eye went directly into Aidan's forehead.
Supposedly the mark under Alexander's eye was instantaneous where as Aidan only had a very small red mark (which then disappeared). So his first shiner was a doozy!
We have an update from the Dentist Appointment
On the way to the dentist, Alexander threw up on the way as we were driving. Not a lot of things worse than having your poor little one throw up in the back seat as your driving...(he got sick due to bad strawberries)
One he got cleaned up and we got to the dentist, he was fine and he watched Mommy during her appointment - he was in a great mood! Then it was time for his appointment! At first he sat down and let Claire count & check his teeth. But once she showed him the air tool he freaked out and then he did NOT want his teeth polished! He was freaked out! We (Claire & I) did lots of talking, bribery - nothing worked to get him back in the chair. Finally Mommy had to hold him with a firm grip as he laid on my lap until he calmed down, but he was not very happy.
And once she was done that he was fine but the middle did not go so well!
