- Then after the photoshoot, we went to Mimi & Papi's so Alexander could have a sleep-over
- Went to Imagination Island with Mimi & Papi - had a blast!
- After Imagination Island, went to get ice cream and then headed back to Mimi & Papi's for dinner & relax time before bed
- Did pretty well at bedtime, did ask for Mommy a few times but did fall asleep
- Woke up around 11pm crying/screaming - he said his ear hurt and wanted Mommy
- After trying several things to calm him down & get him back to bed, about 1:30 Mimi & Auntie drove Alexander home
- Slept with Mommy and woke up fine - no earache, no fever
- Woke up at 6:45am...Even with minimal sleep he still wakes up before 7am!
- Had a lowkey day at home - but thankfully did take a nap since he didn't get a lot of sleep during the night
- After naptime, he was pretty happy & content
- Dinner & tubby with Daddy, then it was time for books with Mommy and he was good until it was time to get tucked in...then he wanted to sleep on the floor
- Overall, pretty whiny in the morning this week as well as fighting bedtime by coming out of his room several times
- His new thing is 'church kisses' where he kisses you on each cheek & then gives you a kiss
The (almost) Sleep-Over...
This weekend, Mommy & Daddy had originally planned to have a date night so that means Alexander was going to have a sleep-over at Mimi & Papi's.
We headed over to Mimi & Papi's late Saturday morning and we hung out for a bit, had some lunch, rode his bike. Then it was time to go to Imagination Island with Mimi & Papi to play for a bit as well as a check out a new place. Alexander had a great time playing at Imagination Island - he had a blast with the bouncy house and even stood his ground against an older boy who was bouncing on Alexander on purpose.
After Imagination Island, Mimi Papi & Alexander all went out for some ice cream. Then headed back home for dinner & bedtime. However around 11pm, he woke up screaming & crying uncontrollably for quite some time. He cried his ears hurt. Mimi & Mommy spoke to come up with a plan...Mommy suggested cuddling on the couch to see if he'd fall back to sleep but that didn't work. Finally, knowing that Alexander was just plain miserable and would NOT go to sleep...Mimi & Auntie Alyson drove Alexander home (Mommy had taken some nyquil and was in no shape to drive). They got here home about 2:45am at which time Alexander cuddled on Mommy's shoulder and just said "I want to cuddle".
Bringing him upstairs to get settled in our bed was the quickest way to get him back to sleep...however the poor kid could not get comfortable. He tossed & turned for a good 30 minutes. Thankfully he fell asleep but it was a very long night for everyone!
He woke up this morning FINE. It was beyond weird how fine he was...no earache, no tummy ache, no fever. Daddy wonders if he fell asleep on his head wrong and somehow got pins & needles in his ear which then made his ear hurt.
Thankfully though, everyone (including Mimi & Auntie) was able to sleep during the day...and Alexander finally had a nap at home during the weekend.

Technical Difficulties...
Due to some technical difficulties, I hope to resume blog posting tomorrow.
I apologize for the delay.
Monthly Update...
It's amazing how not much changes from month to month but there are moments where you think "wow, he's really growing up".
He's doing really well at school - he's maturing, he has great manners & he's having a blast. Of course, he has not-so-good days but I'd be surprised if he didn't because after-all, he is almost 3 years old.
Sleeping is the same from previous month where as he will sleep through the night (in his bed/room) some nights, and then others he'll wake up at random times and come in and sleep with Mommy. We start bedtime around 7p, and try to be done by 7:45p and then let him babble til he falls asleep. Sometimes he does well and other times he fights it for quite some time.
Eating - he has his staples (PB&J, nuggets, Mac & Cheese) and then he has his other things he'll try one day and then not want any part of it the next. He is starting to love yogurt drinks and strawberries as a snack so that's a plus that it's not candy. (he doesn't eat candy)
As for favorites, his new favorite is "Heigh Ho" from Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs...Mommy had to put it on her ipod so we could listen to it in the car as he also loves to watch the little video. But all is other favs (Mickey, Sesame Street, Curious George, Chuggington, Little Einsteins & Handy Manny are still there...)
And next monthly update will be his 3 year update! Can you believe it?!

Birthday Festivities...
Today was Mommy's birthday! So in order to celebrate the day we started off by Mommy & Alexander going to St Marks for mass. Alexander, at first, was excited to go but once there he kept saying how he wanted to go home. (And of course he would say it at the quiet moments so it was just loud enough for him to be heard).
After mass, we came home to a surprise for Alexander! Mimi, Papi & Auntie Alyson were over to celebrate with dinner & cake! He was very excited. So he made Mimi play trucks, trains, cars, & doctor kit. Then later on he helped Auntie decorate the cake and put the candles on. And for a little guy with no nap, he did pretty well.We had a nice family dinner of homemade lasagna, broccoli & twice-baked potatoes which Alexander did a good job of eating most of it. Then after dinner was cleaned up, we sang Happy Birthday, blew out the candles & had some cake!Overall it was a very nice birthday chilling out at home!

Trip to the Aquarium...
Today, Mommy & Alexander went to the Aquarium again! But the plus side was that it was not raining as the following three times. We also met Mimi & Papi at the Aquarium since it was a holiday. Alexander had a blast checking out the penquins with Mimi & the sharks and turtles in the big tank with Papi.Another thing Alexander loves to do at the Aquarium is to touch the starfish & other creatures. He was pretty good about keeping things in the water but it was very crowded which made it hard to get any room. So he & Mimi finagled themselves a spot and had a blast!
Then we walked around a bit more before heading to the cafe for some lunch. Overall, everyone had a great time! And I know Alexander can't wait to go back...
