New Quote...
This morning, Alexander woke up at 5:30am and ended up coming into our room. Initially I thought that meant he was up for the day, but he ended up falling back to sleep. A little later on, he started to move around and blurted out:
- "But I don't wanna go to school!"

Fun at the Fair...
Per our annual, end-of-summer, tradition...we headed to the Marshfield Fair! This year, Chris & Claire joined us which was great for Alexander. He loved going on the rides & seeing the animals with them. They were great about taking turns as to who would go on rides with him. It was a nice day!We even played Mommy's game "Dan the Candy Man"...a trip to the fair is not complete without playing! After the fair, we headed back to Mimi & Papi's for a BBQ & birthday cake for Mimi!

More Quotes...
Alexander is growing up & fast! Today's quote shows how different generations are from when we were kids or even 10 years ago:
- "Hey Mom, is your ipod set charging? I want to listen to your ipod to school"
- "I'm going to run up & down the field."
- "Where's the coach? I want to show him I can kick"

It's Official...
Alexander will be our soccer star!
We signed him up for a soccer league this fall - his first official team sport! He'll play every Saturday for the entire fall; the league starts in September and goes through December which is pretty cool it lasts that long.
The best part is that both Aidan & Connor will be in the same session so he'll get to play soccer with them. Maybe it will help the three of them learn when they should and shouldn't run.
I love the description of the class format:
Our class format is developed to give our budding soccer stars a familiar framework in which they can excel from class to class. Our classes begin with a welcome, incorporating a song for the younger age groups (ages 2 – 5) and a cheer for the older ages (Kindergarten and up). The classes then kick off with stimulating warm-up games followed by a muscle-warming stretch to get everyone ready for action. The bulk of each class focuses on skill-building activities and games. Individual, partner, and group activities are introduced in a non-competitive environment to optimize the experience for each child. Every session culminates in a scrimmage game (adapted variations for younger age groups) to familiarize each child with the structure of a game setting, while always encouraging our young kickers with positive reinforcement.
More Quotes...
A few more quotes direct from Alexander's mouth:
- "Mom, you are beautiful" (as he tangles my hair and moves it around my face as he's getting tucked in for bed)
- "Ummm, I think we have a problem" (as he tries to load his fork full of peas during dinner)

Weekly Glance...
Weekly Glance (Monday, August 16th - Sunday, August 22nd, 2010)
- Had a pretty good week at school - did have a few days where he had time-outs for either not listening or running in class
- No potty accidents at school but did have a few at home (definite case of laziness)
- Slept great all week except for Tuesday night - could not settle down plus a very late nap threw off bedtime schedule
- Went to the Aquarium with Mommy and friends on Tuesday - had a blast! Rode the T, walked around Faneuil Hall, & got to have a play date with Elizabeth
- Wednesday night - he had a large meltdown over a popsicle (see video post) and then had a rough bedtime
- Thursday night, Mommy & Alexander went to the playground after school (hoping to burn off that extra energy) and it is amazing the difference! He was more cooperative & tired once home
- Saturday we had a small cookout with some friends - he got to play with Marina, Elizabeth, Skyler, Sierra, Isabel & Sebastian (his birthday buddy)
- Sunday morning was swim class - he did very well!
- After swim class, we had lunch & then he went for a drive with Daddy (for a nap)
- Chilled out at home in the afternoon as it was a perfectly good lazy Sunday afternoon
- Woke up at 6:45am both weekend mornings so we both got a reprieve

Bah-B-QUE
Today we had a couple of friends over for a cookout (or as Alexander calls it a "bah-be-QUE"). In years passed we've had huge cookouts with both family & friends. This year, we kept it quite low-key. Most of our friends have kids so it was nice that the kids can entertain themselves & play all day!
