Aquarium Visit...
Mommy & Alexander went to the Aquarium on Saturday to help ignore the fact that it was absolutely pouring out & being at home wouldn't be all that much fun. Daddy had a softball tournament and was gone the whole day so it was just the two of us.
On the way in, the rain was coming down so hard I couldn't even hear Alexander in the backseat. Crazy rain. We parked the car & walked our way over to the Aquarium. Alexander was helping direct us by pointing the umbrella which of course didn't help with keeping us dry. But fun none the less.
We got there early enough were there was no lines & barely a crowd inside. Timing was it was perfect. We put our stuff in a locker, which Alexander helped with, so I didn't have to worry about carrying all that around while also watching him & helping him see things. As soon as you walk in, there is the penquin exhibit. Alexander loved this. The entire time there, he could not get enough of the penquins. He also loved it when kids stood next to him at the glass - he would point to the penquins for them and laugh up a storm.
Then we walked around and checked out the different tanks. For the most part, Alexander was much more into going back to check out the penquins. The big tank in the middle didn't hold his attention as much as I thought, especially considering we saw two really big turtles (he loved those). He was not impressed by the shark or the stingray at all. We saw a large octupus, eel, froggies, turtles, shark, stingray, penquins, & an array of fish. He did get to touch a starfish but he seemed more interested in looking around, splashing the water, or just seeing how high he could climb up. Again, it was all about the penquins.
Overall, he was very well behaved and we enjoyed ourselves. After walking around, we went to grab some lunch. It was a great view overlooking the harbor. Alexander enjoyed checking out the boats as they were swaying in the wind & rain. Then we headed back to the car and Alexander found every single puddle from the aquarium to the car & made sure to make the biggest splashes. He was so giggly by the time we reached the parking garage that he was almost jumping in puddles towards other people...but he made sure that both of us were drenched!
All in all, a very good day with my boy.
