Weekly Glance...

Weekly Glance (Monday, July 6th - Sunday, July 12th, 2009)

• Fairly lowkey week at school - played outside when it wasn't raining
• Did go to bed later than usual each night this week
• Sat on the potty at school and started to express interest in sitting on the potty at home
• Mommy bought him his own potty chair & stool
• Went grocery shopping with Mommy Monday after school
• Played in puddles with his rain boots with Daddy on Tuesday - helped sweep the driveway
• Went to Target with Mommy after school on Thursday for hotdog & milk
• Got our picture taken with his Target friend
• Slept until 6a on Saturday then walked over to the playground with Mommy
• Met new friends Jack & Evan at the playground - Jack helped him get on the big slide and Alexander loved coming down and having Mommy catch him
• Walked over to the grocery store after the playground - Alexander scanned the food for Mommy
• Helped Daddy mow the lawn after the grocery store & then had some lunch
• Fought Saturday's naptime despite being tired - cried/whined for almost an hour and finally Daddy went in to calm him down and ended up lying on the ground next to him.
• Daddy & Alexander ended up napping until 5p (Alexander still got his 2 hr nap in despite the fact that it took a while to get there)
• After naptime, we took the wagon over to get some ice cream since we promised Alexander after lunchtime and as soon as he woke up he asked!
• Alexander had his chocolate ice cream and did very well with between licking & the spoon. He had no interest in trying Mommy or Daddy's
• After ice cream, we went to play at the playground for a bit - went on the slides with Daddy, the monkey bars with Mommy and got pushed on the swings!
• Tried the potty before bed but more interested in moving the stool or seat around
• Had the "bureau incident" Sunday morning (see previous post) - one of the scariest moments so far!
• Played with Daddy Sunday morning - went to Dunkin Donuts, the gazebo and the playground
• After the playground, went to swim class with Mommy and loved it!
• Loved going down the stairs; kicked & jumped into the pool
• Went to Target after swim class for a hot dog & milk - was VERY well behaved at Target
• Took a nap once home and then Mimi & Papi came over to visit (but for a special reason to pick him up for a sleep-over!)
• Hung out at home, played with Mimi & Papi, ate dinner, helped Daddy dig & finger painting with Mimi
• Went home with Mimi & Papi for a sleep-over because Mimi & Papi are on vacation this week and wanted to take Alexander to the beach tomorrow near their house
• Did very well getting ready for bed at Mimi & Papi's - brushing his teeth, etc
• Is learning how to say his name and it's quite cute when he says the whole thing
• Loves painting, apples, blueberries
