Hair Cut...

We had a big night tonight as not only did we go visit the Easter Bunny but we got our hair cut too! Well, Alexander did. And I have to say...it's amazing to watch him get his haircut now as opposed to those first three visits. You would think they were completely different kids.

He walks in, waits his turn and when his name is called - he walks right on over to the chair, climbs up, and sits quietly and patiently. It's probably the few moments we'll see him sit fairly still.
Tonight was no exception - he did an excellent job! And he looks so handsome...

Hopping Down the Bunny Trail - Part II...

Tonight, Alexander & I went to go visit our "original" Easter Bunny as Alexander was still raving about his visit with Mr. Bunny from Sunday. I figured it would give him something new to talk about and it would allow me to get a picture this year with our Bunny to help give a sense as to how much Alexander has grown over the year.

Cute, no?

He was so excited to go see him - he went right up to him, climbed on the bench and smiled waiting for the camera. Then he told the Easter Bunny he wanted a green basket to which the Bunny covered his mouth to "giggle". Alexander got the biggest kick out of this!

Weekly Glance...

Weekly Glance (Monday, March 22nd - Sunday, March 28th, 2010)
  • Alexander turned 3 years old!
  • Alexander brought in cupcakes & goodie bags for his friends in preschool to celebrate
  • We had a mini celebration at home with just Mommy & Daddy - a couple presents, Happy Birthday singing, and some chocolate ice cream/cake
  • Had a decent week at school although there were a few occasions of running and yelling at his teacher (which made for us to skip the weekly treat of Target)
  • Sleeping was pretty consistent in that he went to bed around 8:30pm but ended up coming in to sleep with Mommy almost every night
  • Bedtime has been interesting because he finds it a game to get out of bed and try to procrastinate...finally Mommy put her foot down and told him we were not coming upstairs anymore. This was both on Tuesday & Wednesday nights where he stood at the top of the stairs/gate crying for about 15 mins.
  • On Saturday, went to Mimi & Papi's to visit/sleep over so Daddy & Mommy could go out for Daddy's birthday dinner
  • Played Go Fish with Mimi & Auntie
  • Went to the pond to throw rocks with Mimi & Auntie
  • Could not get enough of dinner
  • Mommy & Daddy slept over Mimi & Papi's too so Alexander did not freak out (which was good because at 2:30am he woke up screaming/freaking out for Mommy)
  • On Sunday, woke up at 6:30am (woo but kept Mommy up for most of the night since 2:30am with the tossing) then after breakfast took a tubby so we could go see the Easter Bunny
  • Went to see the Easter Bunny with Mimi & Auntie - he was in love with the Bunny, didn't want to leave
  • Went to Target after the Easter Bunny then back to Mimi & Papi's to have cake/presents for Daddy's birthday
  • Fell asleep during the car-ride home by 7:20pm - that's how pooped he was!
  • Practicing pronouncing "S" & "F" with Mommy & Daddy throughout the week
  • Played new game: Go Fish and he loves it! Finds it hysterical there is a boot to fish out

Hopping down the Bunny Trail...

Today, we took Alexander to go visit the Easter Bunny. He did such a great job and was super excited to see the bunny. He told the Easter Bunny he was a good boy and that he would like a green Easter basket. And Alexander was also incredibly handsome in his Easter outfit.

We got to the Mall just in time as Alexander was third in line and right after we got in line, a lot of kids got there. We really seem to have good timing with stuff like this.

Monthly Update...

36 Months/3 Year *Update*

I can't believe our little guy is already 3 years old! Where did the time go?

We still have a few milestones in progress but besides that he is a healthy & energetic little boy:
-He's still waiting for his back 4 molar teeth to come in (all his teeth came in late)
-We're in the early stages of potty training (he has no desire)

His sleeping patterns haven't changed and he'll always be an early riser. However when naps fully stop, I imagine he'll fall asleep around 8:30pm each night and it might actually be a little easier. I would guesstimate that about 80% of the time, he wakes up during the night and comes to crawl in with Mommy.

Eating is typical in the sense that sometimes he wants nothing to do with food and other times he can't get enough of it. I will comment that he's already eating/trying foods that I still won't eat so I praise his eating habits.

And like most little boys, he loves trains, trucks, running, animals, screaming & playing doctor. His favorite things haven't really changed much as his new thing was the seven dwarfs & the Heigh-ho song and that's still there. He is starting to sing along to songs on his own while driving in the car so that's fun to watch.

And the best part to watch is how he develops, grows & figures things out. When he says "Ohhhh, I seeeeee" after you show him something immediately puts a smile on my face!

Happy 3rd Birthday!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Alexander!
Here's wishing the best birthday!
Love,
Mommy & Daddy

Weekly Glance (Monday, March 15th - Sunday, March 21st, 2010)

  • Had a decent week at school - only a few minor moments of not listening or Aidan & Alexander antagonizing each other
  • Two minor incidents - bumped his head at the playground with a friend and then another friend scratched him on Friday
  • Went to the dentist for his first check-up/visit. He did exceptionally well and loved it!
  • Had a parade & little party at school for St. Patrick's Day
  • Had his 3-year check-up with Dr. M (see other post for details)
  • Went to Panera & had grilled cheese for dinner with Mommy after doctor appointment
  • Dr. M's rule is "stay in bed at bedtime" and that worked wonders on both Wednesday & Thursday where he was asleep almost instantly
  • Went to Target with Mommy and behaved very well
  • Helped Daddy make dinners this week as we had family dinners
  • Had Alexander's 3rd Birthday party on Saturday and the weather was BEAUTIFUL
  • Alexander had a great time at his party playing with his cousin's
  • Alexander had no nap & some sugar where he was super hyped up in the afternoon during present time
  • After dinner, he watched Snow White (it was on Disney) and ended up falling asleep on the couch (putting him to bed was easy)
  • Played with Daddy in the morning on Sunday - they played with the new race track Daddy bought him
  • Daddy & Alexander went to play with cousin Michael at the playground on Sunday afternoon
  • Alexander fell asleep on the way home and took an unexpected nap Sunday afternoon (til 7pm)
  • He woke up and we did dinner, tubby & bedtime a bit later than usual

Choo Choo...Birthday Party

Happy Birthday!Alexander had his 3rd birthday party today! We couldn't have asked for better weather either! It was perfect - sunny, warm & a nice start for the first day of Spring! We had a much smaller crowd than usual (only immediate family) and although extended family was missed, it was a really nice day.
This year's theme was Thomas the Tank Engine. Alexander was very excited to tell anyone who would listen about his birthday cake. He made sure everyone knew that Thomas, Percy & James were all on the cake. The thing he was most excited about was his cake & blowing out the candles. He was very excited as everyone sang Happy Birthday and he blew out those candles in record time!
Then of course he couldn't get enough of the chocolate ice cream (he didn't even have a bite of cake).Photo Opp with the Grandparents
Chocolate kisses for MommyPresent time - which is now when the sugar from juice & chocolate ice cream is kicking in because he was a crazy person opening the presents which then he found entertaining that everyone was laughing at how he was being so this got him a bit more amped up.
Auntie Alyson got him a lot of great spring clothes and so Mommy decided to beat him to it and dump out the bag before he could do it...It was a great day & we're looking forward to see what the age of 3 brings!
