Birthday Party...
On Saturday, we had a small Birthday Party at home to celebrate Alexander's 2nd birthday. We kept the list very small so it wasn't too overwhelming for Alexander. It was a very nice party with cooperating weather.
Turns out, even with a much smaller crowd, he still got pretty overwhelmed. Several times he came running over to me for me to pick him up and cuddle...which is weird considering both Mimi & Ahnee were there. I'm usually the last one he'll come to if others are around. I won't lie, it did feel quite nice to be the one to make him feel comfortable.
We had lunch & then it was cake time. The Elmo cake was HU-G-E! Mimi was on cake duty and ordered the largest cake on the East Coast - albeit large it was a very cute cake that Alexander loved! Everyone said it tasted really good too... (I was too preoccupied to wrap up sections for people to take home which I completely meant to...)
He loved having people sing "Happy Birthday" because then he could blow out candles! After some dessert, Alexander opened presents. He only opened a few before he lost interest and wanted to scoot around the floors with Christopher. He got lots of wonderful presents. He got a whole bunch of new outfits to help get him ready for Spring. He got an activity set, soccer net, lots of books (Mommy loves books), beach toys to use in his sandbox, trucks, baseball bat... And one exciting present to note is that Auntie Alyson got him a set of drums! I don't know who's more excited - Mommy or Alyson! I think Daddy's still in shock... Overall, he was a very happy little boy with lots of presents. He's very lucky for having such a wonderful family
