Week Recap...

Week Recap (Monday, May 19th - Sunday, May 25th, 2008)

  • Alexander hit the 14 month mark
  • He was teething alot this week so his nighttime sleep was definitely lacking (one night Mommy only got 2 1/2 hours of sleep)
  • Did really well with standing and walking on his own - he'll even stop walking when he knows he's going to lose his balance
  • Gives the best hugs & kisses and sometimes you don't even have to ask for them
  • Did very well with a fork & spoon and feeding himself - until he changed his mind and threw the spoon with food on it
  • Loves to cuddle with Cookie Monster
  • He went to visit in the Transition Room on Thursday & Friday to help make the change easier
  • Working on getting rid of yet another bottle to a sippy cup and he's doing really well with th cup
  • He did well in the room - he only took one nap and ate well. In fact, he wanted the other kids lunches
  • Went out to the playground at school
  • Danced to the Wiggles as he stands in the living room
  • Saturday we played outside on the playsets and then sat on a blanket in the grass while Mommy planted the garden
  • He wasn't too fond of sitting there by himself - one moment he would be fine with playing with his blocks, the next moment he would cry and cry and cry
  • He does LOVE to be outside
  • He discovered the tupperware drawer and loves to take them out and then put them back in
  • Went to the zoo with Mommy & Daddy on Sunday (we did this to celebrate our 5th Anniversary)
  • Loved looking at the animals, he would scream when he saw them
  • Had a deer come over and eat from Daddy's hands
  • Was quite cranky Sunday after the zoo as he only got one nap
  • He enjoyed his bath Sunday night as he could splash

Day at the Zoo...

We took Alexander to the zoo again today. This time he had a much better sense of what was going on as opposed to the last time (4 months old). Overall, a very nice day and the weather was perfect. We slathered him up in sunscreen a few times to make sure he didn't get a sunburn. He really liked the animals, at least the ones he saw. He would scream when he noticed them. As for the animals, we saw turtles, elephant, tiger, lions, rhinos, deer, monkeys, birds, ostriches, and camel. I think his favorite was the turtle. It still amazes me how close we live to this zoo - lions or tigers could escape! ;)

Here are some photos from our day at the zoo:

Another video...

Since we're on a video roll...here's another one of Alexander playing/walking in the kitchen. He came over to give me a hug and then wanted to walk back & forth. He likes to turn around and walk back the other way and he'll even push your hand away to show he doesn't want help.

Walking Around...

Here's a video of Alexander practicing walking back & forth between Daddy & I tonight before bed.

-Wakes up around 5:30-6am every day
-Most days he takes two naps (morning/afternoon)
-Bedtime is 7p and he is usually asleep by 7:30pm
